Dear Friends,

This week was Phone Call Week. I took a break from my regular job, encouraging people to come to the Centre dinner, and volunteered to help my sons' school by soliciting journal ads for their upcoming dinner. After my first five rejections, I opted to go for a walk in order to refocus. Then it hit me......why am I spending my free time trying to help an elementary school in Toronto when I should be doing something more significant? Like what, you ask!

Like trying to do something about the tragedy of Ilan Halami a"h.
Shouldn't I be doing something for his family?
Shouldn't I be getting leaders in Toronto to wake up to this tragedy?
Shouldn't I be getting the general press to turn this into the big story that it is?
Hello......can you get a bigger story than this? A three week bludgeoning of a Jew by a bunch of thugs isn't worth a couple of days coverage in newspapers? Hello, CNN, hello, hello.

I am disgusted and now I am scared because it is hitting me. Either the press doesn't care or are they scared themselves; I think both . Maybe I wouldn't be so cynical if I had sold at least one small ad!!!!

Now, back to my phone calls, back to raising a couple of bucks for my kids' school so my children and their friends can learn that even though Hashem seems far away sometimes, "Hashem Li V'lo Iyrah". That G-d is with me; I shall not fear. In the end, I guess that it is significant that I help the boy's school so that they can have the confidence that just like Hashem was with Mordechai and Esther, he is also with them.

Purim Somayach!
